Volunteers wanted for training evenings Showdown Vught, sport for blind and visually impaired adults Do you have a few hours on Monday evenings a few times a month and would you like to volunteer for a good cause? We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers who want to help with the Showdown practice evenings, a fast-paced sport for people with visual impairments that somewhat resembles a cross between table tennis and air hockey. This involves activities such as preparing the materials, serving coffee and guiding participants this evening. From October the group started on Monday evenings. It's no problem if you can't make it every week. The intention is for a permanent group of volunteers to draw up a schedule among themselves. The Robert Coppes Foundation supports blind and partially sighted adults with additional problems. As a volunteer, you can do a lot for them. As a buddy, to expand the social network and very practical to undertake activities together. It is rewarding work that you get a lot of satisfaction from. Clients enjoy being together and we are happy with your help! Working as a volunteer is already possible if you are available for a few hours per month. You can support clients who live independently or in one of our residential facilities, but help with group activities is also welcome. Because what if you are young, have a mild intellectual disability and a small network? Then loneliness regularly arises. How nice it would be that these clients, often guided on an outpatient basis, could also participate in society. Do something fun together with volunteers of about the same age and get to know other people in order to expand the network. You decide the activity together, this can and may be very diverse, sports, gaming, chilling and everything in between. Even a visit from a volunteer can mean a lot to the client. The time, attention and presence will be very valuable to the client, but certainly also to the volunteer. You create beautiful moments together! How cool they took home the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize, they are very proud! The Dutch darts association has asked them to participate in the national ranking tournaments, what an honor! These tournaments take place on approximately 7 Sundays throughout the year. Dates and locations will be announced in August. How great would it be if the darts players could participate in these ranking tournaments and we need you for that. A number of existing volunteers will guide the darts players, but we are also looking for 4 young volunteers (18 to 30) who want to contribute their 'arrow' to this. You make a schedule with all volunteers involved so that it is clear which Sunday or Sundays you will guide the darts players to and at the tournaments.
